Possibility of swapping my 115 Merc from my Astro onto a Cimarron that had a Johnson?

Found a used Cimarron that is in perfect condition other than a blown motor(ran out of oil). Boat was kept covered and in a car port it's whole life.

It has a blown Johnson on it. My Merc is ready to run. I have all the controls.

I believe I have read correctly that the bolt patterns are all the same to rig them up.

Thoughts?

I think it depends on the year and H.P.

Going to look at Cimmaron ASAP. Just have pictures so far. Of course this could turn out to be a looks good on paper but not in person kind of thing, but I am just looking for possibilities.

We are talking outboards? If so then swapping them is no problem at all, you'll need the control box and cable for the Merc to swap over too.

Even IF the bolt holes dont line up I would still go for it if it all pans out on condition. The holes are an easy fix plus when you drill and prep the new holes you might get a glimpse of the condition of the transom.. If you have all of the controls and cables I would go for it..
