While boating this weekend my 2004 Sea Ray select 200 with 5.0 MPI started acting up. It ran well on Saturday, but all we did tie up and enjoyed some beverages. On Sunday morning I dropped my wife and kids in water, parked the truck and walked down. When I got to the ramp my wife stated the boat stalled when she got it off the trailer, but started back up. I really didn't think much of it because it ran fine through the no wake zone out of Jamestown Harbor. We decided to take a long cruise because it was early and the water was calm. After about 1/2 and hour driving at 3500 rpms, we heard a loud beep under the dash by the ignition (same sound as the beep when you turn the keep over). After about 5 minutes it did it again. The moter temp, psi was all good, so I couldn't figure it out. I decided to stop after it did it about 4 more times. As soon as I dropped the rpm's under 1000 the motor would stall. I could get it started by putting it in nuetral and throttling up, but it wouldn't idle at all. I had trouble getting it going, but when I did, I kept the rpm's up so I could get it back to the marina and on the trailer. It ran fine when flying accross the lake, but when I slowed again it stulled.
I have had bad gas before and it has acted like this. The only difference this time is the alarm going off under the dash by the ignition. Have you all ever heard of anything like this???
