I'm looking at 17ft Deep V Spectrum open bow. The floors & deck are rotted and it has a 90hp Force motor power tilt & trim outback also not in great shape. I'm looking at this boat as a fixer upper but not sure if I'm paying to much. The guy wants $1500.00 for it. Any feed back would be great as I'm just learning about boats & motors. The trailer is in great shape though. lol HELP!

Howdy, Swordfish.

Welcome to iboats. :)

That package is worth about what the trailer is worth. Maybe $500.

You would learn a lot about boats and motors and become quite poor long before you had a usable vessel.

I suggest that you start with a usable package that can use some TLC, not a pile of junk from which to try to make a usable vessel.

Good luck, and come back when you have a more suitable prospect. :)

I agree with JB. If the boat was in good condition and the motor was in good condition I would say that 1500 would be a good price. If you shop around you will be able to find a better deal. Even if it means going to a newer motor and going down to a 25 HP it will still get you out there. Try and stay away from force and chrysler. It is getting harder and harder to find parts and force tend to turn to junk real easy. One bad impeller and you just trashed the entire motor.
