This is a real close up pic, but does it look like electrolysis corrosion? I bought the boat used so I don't now if it's a filled in screw hole or corrosion. Any assistance would defiantly help.

Should I clean up the oxidation or is it just safe to leave as is?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Possible corosion

Henry,

Welcome to iBoats.

Looks to me to be a filled hole of some sort or a broken off screw. Many times stainless steel screws will corrode in aluminum and shear off. Kind of looks like that. Maybe a better pic of the surrounding area to see what would be there. Is this area above or below the waterline?

Does that hole/screw/whatever look like it might be "the other screw" to the one next to it?, like there were 2 screws holding something on, or together? You could drill it out, replace it, fill it with JB Weld, forget about it?...
