Re: possible fuel line / carb question

to tell you the truth I have know idea what mine is doing, I can hold it or pump it and it still bogs. I think really that it may be my carb linkage. I hope that I find it soon or I am going to have a brand new engine.

Re: possible fuel line / carb question

I was wondering if the line to the carbs can be pulled down/starved/collapsed while under initial/powering up? I found a spring called out but cannot put a part# to it or find one?

Re: possible fuel line / carb question

doesn't sound likely, if the carb float is adjusted correctly - it should just pull the existing fuel from the bowl of gas in the carb and the fuel pump then starts working to fill the bowl at the same time. If your fuel pump is weak or you are sucking air, that could cause some issues. Did you say that it doesn't bog when you pump the primer when running? If so - that sounds like fuel pump. The gas line from the fuel pump from my understanding should always have positive pressure from the inside out created from the fuel pump making pressure and the carb causing a blockage/stop of flow when the bown is full and the needle seats.

Re: possible fuel line / carb question

I have not had it very long, but it is out of the hole slow, no missifre or fuel leaks that I can see, I changed some clamps and trimmed up the ends of the lines and reclamped them. I have changed the plugs, checked the fuel pump for debris and put a filter in between the ball and the motor, I want to run again to see how it will run after the fuel filter install. (when I checked the pump there was no screen in there so I may have crap in the carbs....thats why I put the inline on in) I checked for carb linkage response while not running and move the controller to full throttle and watched the adv and linkage all appears to move at correct times. my tank seeps fuel at the gasket from the tank to the top assy (metal tank ) ball goes down alittle pump again no problem, opens up great planes fine just out of the hole boggy....
