Re: Possible Glastron Purchase...thoughts?

Looks like a very nice boat for a reasonable price in the peak of boating season none the less.
I'm no fan of 4 bangers but in most cases if your just cruising they get the job done. I wonder if that 70's Volvo POS was in fact a Volvo engined stern drive, those seem like they could leave some things to be desired. The new drives ar all Chevy engines.

Re: Possible Glastron Purchase...thoughts?

UPDATE: The 1997 with teh 4.3 has been sold....however, another 2003 175 Glastron was just posted yesterday. Its the exact same boat but he is only asking $7,300. Im going to go take a look at it tomorrow after some storms roll through today but I may have some bargaining power as well as a chance to compare. It doesnt say anythign about any included extras which I would definately prefer if the boats are in similar condition.

Also, I think the size and power is about right for now. We dont have the budget or the storage for anythign much bigger. I also want to take an easy on my truck since its just a v6 expolorer sport trac that can only tow up to 5k lbs. I know i'm still way under that but I know there will be a time and place where I update the truck and boat. This is just a starter boat for us and considering the usage we have in mind and the size of our family I think this is about perfect. Thanks for the opinons though guys...keep em comin.
