I will try to post some pictures of the boat and trailer because I have received such great answers to the questions I have had since buying it. Thanks
The first pic should show me sitting in the Starcraft center console with the sun shade I made for it. Note: This pic also shows the way I had to adapt the trailer for the side guides.
This pic is of the inside of the vinyl top showing the frame in grey pvc with the braces in cpvc.
The next pic shows the uprights for the top stowed across the splash well at the stern.
The last picture was of the wife's bass- It took me 3 weeks to catch a bigger one, all I heard for the three weeks was "my big fish"- I finally caught one that was 2" longer.

LOL :D - That's great. I have to admit, if I'm going to lose to anyone (fishing or otherwise) I'd prefer it to be my wife. For some reason the competition of winning the title back is a lot of fun with her!

How does your bimini top work in the rain? The stowage on the supports is brilliant. Nice job.

So hang on. Do you start that motor with the pull start? I see it is a tiller steer but it looks like its been converted to a pulley system (console steer)? How is that working for ya?

Are you looking at his electric tiller?
Nice boat and real nice bass the wife caught.
Trailer looks alittle small to me though, alot of stern seems to be overhanging there, maybe it's the picture.

Nice, you should be spending a lot of happy hours in it on the water. Just curious, what size is the motor?

The 1972 Starcraft center console was built with the electric start and steering wheel control. The Motor is an 82 elec. start, Merc 25 XD. You might be looking at the old trolling motor, it is transom mount and hand steer so far. After reading about people having their motors stolen with-store bought motor locks- I made my own out of angle iron. The boat has about a foot overhang from the end of the last bunk of rollers and the trailer is very heavy duty. Somebody on here said it might be an old Gator trailer. It takes me about 5 minutes to put each section of the top up, I just use broom clips to hold the vinyl in place. The top is just for shade when we are anchored or at idle. The top should work pretty well for keeping the rain off too, it is made of awning vinyl and is very strong material. I drilled a hole in a scrap piece and stuck a wire through it and pulled hard trying to rip it.

Re: Possible pictures !

I'm no trailer expert but from what I've read you want your boat to be on the bunks/rollers,completly.
It's not because the trailer will break but you might develope a hook in your hull, then your boat might not handle as well as it should.
I see theres a transom saver but the weight on the motor on a long and maybe bumpy road, might take it's toll after awhile.
Yes,I do know I used "might " alot....just saying.

The bunks are okay being 6" out like that. I wouldnt want the boat to hang out much further though.(Like it is) I agree, the trailer is a bit too short, but like you said at least he has a transom saver. Boat doesnt look very heavy either. He could at least extend the bunks out a few more inches IMO.

Re: Possible pictures !

I want to replace the roller bunks with carpeted planks, when I do I will extend them back further. I would like to fix the old trailer up with the kind of planking where I can just float on and the boat will settle in as I haul out. It worries me that there is so much distance between the front center roller and the one behind it. Although the boat rides good on the rollers it looks like I should be scraping the keel when loading. I guess I could add another roller in between. Thanks for the advice- it seems like all of the roads are long and bumpy around here.
