Our first boat bought May 31 2012, one owner, 1974 American 16. We haven't been in the water yet but thanks to this forum I already know enough to know I don't know enough!

Thats a great looking boat.
If my 1975 American 16 looked that good I would keep it instead of parting it out. But then again, if it looked that good I wouldn't have been looking on ebay to find a better boat and would have missed out on my 1966 Starcraft Jupiter.

1972 Mariner 21 help
Hi guys, I have only posted once before on here, and I do have pictures of my Starcraft that I will post when I get her a bit farther along. But, I need help with an issue to see if I even finish the second restore on this boat.

I stripped all the paint off the bottom of the hull (believe me, a MAJOR task) to apply Gluvit and paint, after getting all the paint off of the bottom I was inspecting the hull before sanding and applying the Gluvit and I ran across a stress crack in the port side slash rail, forward beam. Anybody ever seen this type stress crack before? Can it be welded? Or do I need to fabricate a cap?

The Bare Naked Lady on Kinzua NY-PA border. After 2 years all the wrinkles have been ironed out and the boat and trailer now run great! New plugs/points/coil and a rebuilt carb = quick cold and hot starts, low idle and hole shot! Wish I did the same:facepalm:

At 4500 RPM with a 19p = 34 on the Garmin - So I guess one could get to 40 with a 21p@4800 revs

The 18' is perfect size for the SC65 family!

Shame she needs that extra 500lbs and 40 extra HP to equal the performance of my outboard

LL - where do you put your baot in? I am in Buffalo - we do the ADK, Kinzua - Finger Lakes, Chautaqua and sometimes Lake Erie///
