Re: Post a picture of your boat/whip...what do you take out...
The wife just took this a couple of weeks ago. I'm actually having more fun that it looks...
2004 Scout 175 Dorado dual console with Yamaha 90 4 stroke. Boat has the optional ski pylon and is a fabulous all around fish and ski boat. Sips gas and has enough git to be fun. Nonskid, self-bailing cockpit can't be beat for cleanups after a sandy, pop-and-chip encrusted day at the beach with the kiddies.
I'm also lucky enough to get a fair bit of helm time in my step father's boats. In the foreground - 2009 Crestliner Sportfish 1950 SST / Mercury 175 Verado. Sure, getting a tinny to 50 mph in 3 seconds is great but you'll lose all your fillings in along the way in a chop...

. Man can not live by supercharged, intercooled, scary stupid acceleration alone!
And my all time favourite family powerboat - 1988 Hinterhoeller, Limestone 24 with 5.7 litre Mercruiser I/O. The motor is midmounted running a jackshaft to the outdrive. Just an outstanding big water boat. Knocks the chop flat while carrying big loads with grace.
Finally (and mostly!) - my 8 year-old son on his first solo kayak ride a couple of weeks ago. He finally got the thing going forward and at a surprising rate of speed. The top photo of the Scout is actually me watching over him learning while trying to impart all the fatherly advice my five hours of kayak experience qualifies me for....
