Posting Answers... Problems?

In the last few days, I've encountered problems in posting answers to member questions. A small window pops up asking if I want to leave or stay on the page when I click to post my answer.

Unless I copy my answer I lose it if I click to go to another page, and if I stay on the page, I have went nowhere.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Re: Posting Answers... Problems?

I have encountered this from time to time on another forum using V bulletin software.

I dont think i have ever lost an answer ...... I think I normally opt to leave the page and it all works ok ... Not sure ....not been a problem to me.

Your answer should be autocopied so you should be able to restore it anyway if necessary .... that works OK ..just tried it to make sure

Happens to me too. I say don't leave, then highlite the text and press ctrl-c to copy it to the clipboard. Now that I've saved it, it is safe to leave the page. Usually it does post, but just in case.......

Joe, think you will find your password has been logged off. I've noticed that the website times out my password very quickly, even though I've signed in. You are right, I have to copy my answer, then sign on again, the repost my answer to the thread. This has been going on for weeks. Usually happens when creating my first post of the day. Once a post is completed, it seems to hold my logon for the rest of the session.

I'm never logged off so that I would need to sign on again (username/password). I stay signed on... it's just a hassle to post a reply.

My Mac mouse will do that if I accidently swipe to the side. You can regain the text by leaving the page and go back to the original thread heading and click on it. There will be a little tag "restore auto saved content".
Not sure if you have to leave the page everytime you try to post.
As you type an answer a yellow "auto saved" tag comes on occasionally in the lower right corner of the answer window.
When it comes on it means that text up to that point has been saved.

I've taken a closer look at this problem. The quick reply portion of the forum leads to a blockage when the submit button is clicked, BUT......... Clicking on the "Advanced" button first, then entering the post/reply results in the reply going thru normally.

Edit 10/31/13, 8:32 PM: I've found that when using Microsoft Explorer, the problem does not exist and all is as it has been in the past (No Problems)....

The problem raises its ugly head when using browser Goggle Chrome. Goggle has updated that browser recently and apparently drug in a boo boo. Well, at least now I know.
