Re: Potential Project or Nightmare

thanks redfury, what paint should i use on the sides of the hull above the waterline. would i use a regular topside paint?

Regular topside paint is fine for anything that isn't going to be in constant contact with the body of water the boat floats on.

Interlux, Easypoxy and Petit are a couple of good brands to consider for marine paint if you want to use something with some quality to it...for the bottom, spend the money there if you don't want to have to deal with garbage accumulating on the hull.

Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Rustoleum marine paint if you want something cheaper. As far as painting the boat yourself, you don't need fancy spray booths and guns. A fine roller and a good brush is all you'll need ( and a way to keep the dust and environmental debris from getting to the wet paint ).

Ok Sounds great. Thanks for all the help. I talked to my grandmother yesterday and she said that i can have it for free as long as my uncle didnt want it. I never knew he was part of the picture but im hoping he doesnt want it. I wont know till Easter when he comes down so in the meantime i guess ill just gather more information about it and hope for the best.

Also I was thinking. Isnt 70hp underpowered for this boat.
