Powdercoating ?'s

I am wanting to get my bow rails , hand rails , windshield frame , and mounts powdercoated. I believe the rails and mounts are stainless steel , while the windshield frame is aluminum. Can they be coated? I was told that all parts need to be sand blasted prior to coating them.
Thanks for any help!

They can be coated, with the proper prep (which includes an acid etch.. sandblasting might be good too, but what is needed is clean metal).

Why do you want to powder coat stainless fittings?

I just thought that they would look sharp if they were coated. Not to worried about rusting or corosion issues. The boat is only used in fresh water and is cleaned and covered after each outing.
Thanks for the help!

If you want that look, then that's certainly ok.

You won't have any issues with corrosion or rusting in fresh water with stainless, and probably not even in salt water, even if uncoated, unless you're thinking of connecting a battery to the rails then sinking the boat :)

i've never seen a boat with powdercoated rails and all. lets see a bigger pic of your boat.

i've heard of estimates for wakeboard towers that are around $4-500. not sure how they charge their prices...size, # pieces?

Here's a pic or two. Going to do the Bowrails , the windshield frame , and the grab bars on the rear deck area.

Great idea , but I'd have a hard time getting 6' bow rails in my 30" oven. Any ideas?

Any good powdercoat shop can handle these just fine. They will prep them properly before coating them. Costs vary, but for an idea, I had a go kart frame done for around $100.

I was hoping to get them all done for around 200.00 at the most. Any suggestions out there on a good shop to send the parts too? There isn't a plating/coating shop anywhere close to me.
Fix , your signature makes me laugh!! I'm the exact way with my boat. But hey , gotta have a hobby of some sort , right?:D

Matrex , yeah I saw a 24' Baja out at Lake Havasau , Arizona that had all of the hardware coated a Candy Red. Man , it was sharp looking!
