17.5’ Triton duck boat with sometimes an extremely heavy load. Which motor between the regular 2018 etec 60hp or the 2018 60hp mercury command thrust would get that rig on plane the easiest. Those are really my only two options on motors. A 2010 mercury 60 4 stroke(non command thrust) performed poorly with that task. Went to a 4 bladed prop and it helped but was still not satisfied. Thanks

Going from one 60hp to another 60hp motor should change almost nothing, unless the first motor was not running very well. Now if you go to a 60hp 2 stroke motor you will gain some because the 2 stroke weights less then the 4 stroke.

Adding more blades just hurts your self, because each blade takes more power to turn. What is your WOT rpm when heavy loaded, and what pitch prop?

Load, if counting with a heavy one is the worse wot rpm/hole shot serial killer. Would you say that will always, frequently go boating heavily loaded ? To dial a top prop is much easier if counting with a fixed or near fixed load as opposed to be constantly varying loads. The dilemma is : should I prop right my engine for medium or heavy loads to run middle or max wot rpm range ?

Happy Boating
