Power head change on Evinrude 15hp 94y

Hi. my friend use Evinrude 15hp 94y.he has some problems witch rod bearings.
is it posible to change just power head only using one bilt on models before 93'?

I red this articles but i need good opinion/advice if it is good solution to pick bare powerhad and try to fit in.
if i would to dissasemle powerhad and change inner parts, there is big risk and bunch money to spend to.
Mr Wisner is a good person to ask but "the mechanist" is propably fishing
