Power plug/socket is the wrong size

My daughter gave me a seat warmer for Christmas that plugs into the power socket or cigarette lighter but the plug is smaller than my socket so it doesn't make a connection. I've seen little sleeve adaptors that you can attach to the plugs that make it fit in the larger sized sockets, but I can't seem to find any. I guess I could replace the plug with a larger one but I didn't want to. I've checked several auto supply places and they look at me like I'm crazy. I actually had one but I gave it to this same daughter for her seat warmer. She liked it so well she got me one. A seat warmer is nice here in the rocky mountains on a cold morning. Any ideas?

I wasn't aware there is more than one size. Guess I need to keep an eye open for that in the future.

Are you trying to plug it into a cigarette lighter socket or a power point socket? I'm not exactly sure that they are diminsionally identical.

or a power point socket?

Huh??? What's a power point socket??? Just askin, because i've never heard that term before. I have an 01 Toyo highlander that has a ciggerbutt lighter on 1 side of the shifter and an "accessory power" socket on the other side of the shifter. They are the exact same socket. The lighter works in both of them.

Is this seat warmer made in china? I'd see if you could return/exchange it at the store she bought it at before you go cuttin wires. Sure it's easy enough to cut the end on and crimp on a new end... but it would be unsightly, unsafe if not fused correctly, and just a plain old PITA. See if you can get a new one.

there are several different sizes of sockets.... try bringing the seat warmer to an auto parts store and trying it in one of the auxiliary aftermarket sockets that you can install on your dashboard and wire into your fuse block.

The lighter in my porsche is bigger then the plugs on all of my toys. I use a piece of a wire tie to shim it in.
