Anyone know the fitting sizes for the high pressure power steering hose from the pump to the control valve? I don't have one of the fittings. Pn is 32-90494. Going to try to find an off the shelf replacement, or have one made up. $150 for the OEM part...

Thanks, I'll check to see if I'll have room with a standard hose $100 cheaper. Didn't know if this was a Merc bolt on...

Mike, while you're at it check out quick disconnect fittings. The seniors on the forum Scott Danforth (?) or someone else posted these. Since you're into the messy part of the job, the disconnects make certain maintenance jobs much easier.

got a pic, most likely its 5/8" inverted flare like the power steering pump..... however lets get some feedback...Hey Bondo or achris ....what fitting port is in the A1G1 steering actuator?

I switched mine to JIC fittings and made the hose at work. I purchased the 5/8" inverted flare to #6 JIC fittings for the pump and my VP actuator has a M16 ISO thread, so I had an adapter tooled up for that one.

if its a 5/8" inverted flare, plenty of places that can make you a hose, including your local NAPA. you can also order stuff on-line from companies like earls to make your own, however with a 1200 psi system, leaks suck.

googling 32-90494 looks like the 5/8" inverted flare at the pump (with the o-ring) and either a 7/16"inverted flare or 1/2" inverted flare at the actuator...

In my notes I have them listed as metric thread, and one of them is 14mm x 1.25

OK, googling around some it appears that the actuator is a standard GM part (I saw from '60's-'80's vettes, but I'm sure others). Merc at some point went to a different actuator (later than my application), called DHB (old style is saginaw). At that point they went to metric threads. I'm ordering a remote oil filter kit and quick drain from summit tomorrow, I'll see if they have any insight. New style stuff also has quick connect standard, so I'll see if I can get some hose with QC adaptors.

So summit apparently can't help much at all. My measurement at the actuator is 7/16, didn't have time to disconnect and measure the pump end, but both ends appear to be gm. Told the guy I needed a gm line, 60+ cm. He told me he couldn't help without knowing the application. Might as well have walked into AutoZone without the 20 min wait on hold. We'll try Napa next I guess.
