First I would like to thank you all the advise and help you have given me while I was getting my boat ready. You all have saved me a ton of money that otherwise would have been given to the marine mech.

My new problem is the power steering cylindar that is mounted on the stern leaks fluid badly. So I had to remove the ps belt.

It leaks on the left side of the cylindar, it is rusted out. I cant really get to it that easy and am wondering if that cylindar is expensive and should I attempt to do this job or have the mechanics handle it???

ps. My arms are getting huge steering this thing without the power steering!!!

Cylinder rebuild kit

Cylinder rebuild kit

There are steering cylinder rebuild kits available for most models, however if it is rusted then a cylinder replacement is in order. They are not too difficult to figure out; just remember how you take it apart and put her back the same way.
