Power Steering Oil - Dextron?

Is there a preferred power steering pump oil to be used, should ATF fluid Dextron 2 or 3 matter?

Use power steering fluid since it does not foam like automatic transmission fluid.

your manual either calls out ATF or SAE 30 for a VP

if its red, its ATF, if its light amber color, its SAE 30

do not mix Dexron with ATF, dont mix Type F with ATF, dont mix Dexron and Type F

ATF is usually associated with MOPAR or other. GM vehicles use Dextron, Ford vehicles use Type F

Volvo is suggesting Duraplus power steering fluid - believe this Dextron ATF DEXIII is acceptable.
