Hey All,

I have an interesting situation I could use some input with.

The last time I had my boat (2001 Four Winns Horizon 180LE 4.3L VP) out I noticed that the power steering rack would "rumble".

I've checked the belt (good tension) and the fluid level (solid on "cold") and both seem fine. The strange thing is that it only seems to do it above 2500RPM's.

Any ideas?

TIA

Are you sure its the rack? Could be the gimbal bearing or U-joints if it's rumbling when you turn above 2500 rpm..

Re: Power Steering Rack

I suppose it could be, I'm not 100% sure. I just assumed it was the power steering rack as the noise was in that general neighborhood and only happened when I was turning. As a matter of fact, it only happens when i turn left.
