Power Tilt/Trim

I have a 1983 Evinrude 50hp motor. I have found a guy selling a power tilt/trim unit that he says is off a 70hp, unsure of year at this time. Would that work on my 50? What info do I need to ask him to verify fit?

If it does fit, do I need to change the hanging bracket for my motor or will it fit the bracket I have?

No it won't work. The 70 hp has a 3 ram system that mounts between the mounting brackets. The 50 needs the system that has the 2 rams that mount outside the mounting brackets. Your best bet is the aftermarket.
