power tilt

I have a 86 force 85 hp motor, just bought it,motor runs but can't get the tilt to work. I took apart the casing got the motor out, (for the tilt), and it was full of water. I also found that one of the brushes were disconnected. Is it possible to clean out the motor, and reconnect the brush to get it to work? If so what do I clean it with, and is it worth the time?

I'd probably be looking on eBay for one. Keep the one you have and fix it the best you can, at least you'll have a spare - just in case. Probably any automotive starter repair shop could get that thing up and running.
