I was wondering if someone could help me with finding the correct power trim and tilt for a 1988 Johnson commercial outboard. I am looking for one due to shoulder problems and I find it hard to tilt this motor manually. Thanks.

watch ebay 40,48 50 hp should fit. be sure to get the control box also. it has the relays in it and they are expensive.

That, or if you have $500 to spend, buy a CMC PT-130 Trim and Tilt unit. It's an aftermarket unit that would bolt to your boat, and the motor would bolt to the CMC unit. You can find used ones on ebay off and on, even new ones, but if you go to a store they are gonna want $600 for the unit. I've seen 'em on ebay for under $500. I good condition used factory TnT is gonna run close to $400 anyways, and you will have to pay someone or spend some time doing the job yourself.
I've got a 2000 55hp commercial motor, and am going to be going the CMC route when I have the money. It also provides 6" of setback I believe.

Sorry for the late response to the replies, my daughter had a son in early August and we were a way for a while. Being a grandpa to a baby boy was a lot more exciting than looking for a t&t. So, thank you for the replies and happy boating. ;)
