I have a 1991 Force 120 and the power trim and tilt worked perfectly until last season. The problem I have is when I try to "drive" the boat onto the trailer. I need to raise the motor to prevent the prop hitting the slip. This is fine until I have to apply lots of power to push the boat up onto the trailer. At this point the tilt will not hold and the motor drops instantly which does not do the prop much good! The tilt and trim works fine otherwise and this has never happened before. The motor will hold up in any position when in open water but the extra load when pushing against the trailer skids seems to be to much for it. I have checked the level of the oil and it is fine. Any ideas please?

You might have to replace the rings in the tilt cylinder.
