Power Trim Manual Release.

G'day All,
My Power trim system (Eaton Pump) got stuck half way up due to lack of fluid and air in system.Turned manual release 3 or 4 turns and it lowered gently to full down.Tried to lift motor by hand and could not budge it,not even an inch.Can I keep turning more turns anti or have I done something wrong.Motor weight 380 pounds.

you can turn it all you want. once you back it out far enough then it should lift slowly and easily.

it is a piston type seal. once the piston backs out past the hole in side of cylinder then it is released. do not overtighten. just until bottom and stop. no torquing.

throw a rope over a tree branch and use that to help tilt the engine. most big engines are only 70-80Lbs of pull at the prop in order to tilt.
