Greetings, if anyone can help me with my power trim problem there would be a huge weight off my shoulders.
I have a 97 Larson 29' with twin I/O V6. In my driveway the trim worked fine. Since I last trimed it, I put in a new GPS and VHF. When it came to launching the boat, the trim would not go up or down, completly dead. At the dock I trimed it down by jumping the solenoids. Later on I used a jumper wire on the wiring harnes plug. The pumps were fully functional. So it's the harness plug all the way to trim switch that may be the culprit. I'm not sure if their are any aditional fuses or wire that go to the dash that I may have knocked off mistackingly when I installed the GPS and VHF. Any suggestion of where I should start?? Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,... Start up in the Adults Only section at the top of this forum...
In there you'll find the Factory Manuals for your motor,+ drive...
In the manual, you'll find the wiring diagrams for the trim,...
Follow the Power to find the Problem...

Re: power trim mercruiser

Finally I was able to look at this problem over the weekend. There was a broken wire inside the throttle control handle leading which leads to the handle trim button. I guess moving the hand back and forth a thousand times over ten years did the wire in.
