Re: power trim pump help

I had thought that all the balls and springs were confined to the control valve that bolts to the PTT Pump. Normally the new motor and resvoir would screw to the pump unit (bottom part). The only parts were a oil screen and a cover over it, I had thought.

If you have disassembled the control valve, I think you are in doo doo. There is not serviceable parts in there.

deep doo doo is more like it!! this was an older unit off a 115 inline 6 early 70s
has the pump motor unit and 2 cly that take the place of the shocks. any way it was full of water so i tooker down and started cleaning and drying.every thing was good except i couldnt turn the shaft for the pump with out plyers, figured its rusted end of story lol.would have been fine if i just would have oiled it. friend gave me a pump and reservoir and i made a good unit.only to find that the selnoids are bad.good thing or i would have fried the motor the first time.any way she works great now.

Re: power trim pump help

the springs go to your contact on the armiture, inside motor, and the ball goes on top of armitur as a ball bearing like device. i had a short in old wiring torn my pump apart to needed new contacts $100,just for contacts. new motor is about $300. so be careful. good luck

Re: power trim pump help

I can give you the info you need on how to correctly reassemble the springs and check balls in the valve body, but i will have to find my personal notes on this! I have disassembled, cleaned and reassembled many of these valve bodies but i have to find my diagrams so i don't tell you something thats incorrect! The check balls are still available in case you have lost one, and i might even be able to get new springs for it also! If you would like to contact me directly so i can send the info, email me at challectric@gmail.com so i can forward the diagram to your email.
