I have a 1995 Rinker Captiva 212 with a 4.3L Mercruiser. From the pictures on iboats, I believe it has a Quicksilver remote. The "down" trim works fine. However, the "trailer" button does not work. I was able to hear the solenoids click, so I determined that the problem was in the switch. I removed the "trailer" rubber boot assembly and a metal cap just flew out. I am able to raise the lower unit to the "trailer" position by placing the metal cap on metal nipple thingies on a circuit board in the throttle. I'm able to reinstall the cap into the boot, but I'm not able to get the circuit board into the boot because the board will not fit through the opening in the throttle.
How to I disassemble the throttle so that I can reassemble the trailer switch assembler?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.
