Hello all, new to this site.I have had great success with information I have found on here thanks to Don S I believe it was with his post on how to trouble shoot your ignition, was very helpful in helping me make the determination I needed a new slave solenoid. Now my problem is as I went to raise my lower unit it would only run for about 3 seconds and stop.It will go down fine but will not raise on the normal rocker switch. After a couple attempts to raise it,it stopped working completely.I am looking for a wire schematic of the trim system for a 2001 Proline walk 26 so I can get an idea what I'm looking for.I would appreciate any help or suggestions.Thank you

Re: power trim schematic

Your problem sounds like your trim is working normal, and it stopping because of the trim limit switch. Big problem now is what outdrive you have, in this forum, we could care less what boat you have, we need to know Model numbers, manufacturer, serial numbers, model of the drive in order to help.

Re: power trim schematic

thank you MPDCAM this is a better schematic with the more modern controll that I have.
DON S this is the info I have Model MerCruiser MX6.2L-MPI
Engine serial #omo42464
Stern drive Bravo 3 serial #om108021
It has the Mercury Precision remote control
today I used a jumper between the Red hot on the pumps 110 amp fuse to the BLUE/White wire on the UP soleniod and the pump started.then to the GREEN/WHITE down solenoid and the pump started. The 20 amp fuse also was good.I recently ran a new transducer wire and speed temp on the starboard side with great difficulty. This is the same side my control wires run for the trim.I am wondering if somehow I damaged the up wire from the controller to the solenoid?Like I mentioned before in previous thread it started to work for a very short time about a second. It did this three times and then went to nothing happening at all (no noise at all).I miss spoke before and said it ran for about 3 seconds(not so).Do you feel the rocker switch could be faulty? If so can it be replaced?Does the wires to the remote control lever plug in to the unit,I"m thinking I need to test continuity from controller to the three wire plug on the pump.my colors are solid (no stripes) red, blue, green, and I think there was a purple but not sure if that went to controller. If I take the allen screw out on the shift lever will that let me remove it and expose the controller for testing or removing ?Does the trailer trim switch bypass the limit switch? Is that why it will work to raise the unit?I am greatful for your help Greg

Re: power trim schematic

Check the shifter handle for worn wires. Take the cover off before you go as far as removing the shifter handle. If you do remove the handle check for worn wires under there.

Re: power trim schematic

Does the Unit go all the way up when using the trailer button? If so the rocker switch or the wires to it will be your problem. Some times the wires get pinched under the front cover plate for the shifter. The rod in there rubs the insulation off the wires. There also should be a connections under a black plastic box which just snaps together. Take those wires and jump them with a power source and see what happens.

Re: power trim schematic

thanks for the replies.I have everything working now except the UP on the trim.I sliced back the insulation on the blue wire at the control handle (still in place) and the put 12volts on it and it went up fine.So this tells me my problem is in the handle be it a broken wire or bad switch.I think it is the switch because it did engage once for me.My question is how do I get that control handle off? I took the allen screw out and cannot get it to budge. Is there something I'm missing and could someone direct me to the manual that show how to do it.The information I have is that it is a (Mercury Precision Remote control) It may be a (commander 3000) not positive.MerCruiser MX6.2L,Engine ser#omo42464,Stern Drive ser#0m108021,Transom ser#OM226368
