I am trying to upgrade my 74 Evinrude 70hp to power tilt and trim. I have a set of transom brackets and a power trim unit of the new type and I want to adapt it to my motor. My question is can it be done and what other parts would I need? Do I need a pivot bracket off of a newer motor or will the 74 work? How about the steering tube? Will I have to change that too?
