Thanks for that reply JimS, I will look into that model. I have been tossing around running the wires but I already have the extra battery, I keep it for jump starts, powering my lawn sprayer and other toys and would be no problem having it in a battery box in the back of my suv. One of the things I was thinking about is making the winch portable and how to make a temporary mount to my boat trailer so it could be removed from temptation while on the water. If by any chance you have a pic of your mounting method, it might stimulate some thought from my old brain.....thanks

Sorry, I don't have a pic. When I bought the winch it was an option for just a couple bucks. The bottom of the winch has 3 mounting holes. Normally you just put 3 bolts thru them. The kit had 2 studs and a bolt with a wingnut. You set the winch on the studs, then slide it toward the trailer to engage the studs. Then, simply tighten the wingnut on the 3rd bolt.

OK, I understand that ..quite simple really. As a toolmaker for 48 years I am sure I can come up with something but your idea will get the ball rolling, Thanks

My tow rigs have a 7 pin rv socket. So all my trailers have the 7 pin connector. There is a pin on the 7 pin setup for a constant 12 volt supply...
