I have a '93 115 hp evinrude with a laminated cylinder. Have gotten quotes on repairs. Being new at boating I am wondering if it would be wise to rreplace the powerhead or replace the motor. If motor replacement is the way to go how much hp am I looking for to move an eighteen foot boat Thanks for your help
Jaybird1008

Describe what you mean by a laminated cylinder. Tell us what the piston and cylinder look like. Is the motor standard bore now? Is the crank OK?

Good luck!

OK. Not that uncommon. It can be fixed pretty easily. As long as the block is boreable and the crank is good I would rebuild that one.

Good luck!
