Powerhead serial numbers?

Hey guys my friend just gave me mercury powerhead . Not sure what it is can anbody help I found these numbers on the top of the powerhead OD286382 . Thanks.

Should be a 1994 V-6. It could be a 2.0, 2.4 or 2.5 liter. Post part number off head as this will tell what size it is.

It's a 1994 MARINER 2.5L 200 XL.

Hey that is great . Where they good motors back then? what does the xl mean? Hoping this is going to be a reliable powerhead .

Hey again thanks . I checked the power head i am using now . It had c273362 and on the heads it had 15221-c1 . Can you tell me what i am working with now . Thanks .

Those are 2.4 heads,if it has thin steel sleeves its likely a XR4....
