I have a question that I can't find a answer in any books I have. I have a 1972 Chysler 130. This engine was only produced in 72 & 73 from what I can find out. Something happened and the #1 cylinder is trashed. What I am trying to find out is what other powerhead will bolt onto my lower unit? I have seem pictures of 105 and 115 and they look the same. Thanks Jerry

Re: Powerhead swap????

Hey, I just posted that I'm parting out my 140 that the outboard tech had rebuilt a 120 block that bolted right up(believe it's a '78). So I can't answer your question, but I think many of the 4 cylinder units were similar(gasket sets and part numbers at least in my case). If you can find someone to answer the technical questions, my 120 block has about 50 hrs on total rebuild, and I don't see why one couldn't sleeve the bad cylinder and just replace the one piston/rod/bearing...mine never totally seized...we shut it down before it could. still turns by hand(with head loose) but bottom cylinder(4?) is gouged beyond repair...anyway, model number was 1407H8A(except for block that I'd guess was from a 1207H8A but not the man to ask)...Need any/all of it, would love to see it leave my garage..sincerely tom

Re: Powerhead swap????

I have got the same type deal you have. Mine is the #1 cylinder. My engine runs fine it just does not make very much low end power. After it comes up to speed there is no problem. I did a compression check and found that the #1 cylindwer was low, pulled the head and the cylinder is scored. I checked on rebuilding and I think I am going to a replacement engine. Looks like a Mercury may be in my future.
