i have a 1988 85hp force outboard motor and i was wondering if a 1986 Force 125 Powerhead Model 1254X6b would swap? like would everything from the 85hp bolt onto the 125hp one... would have to use the 85hp base, lower unit and all..... reeason im asking is because i know where a 125hp powerhead is and i can have it for $100 but everything has been taken off of it but it has good compression....

Re: powerhead swap??

You also need a four cylinder stator and four cylinder trigger plus an extra coil. Of course, you will need the four cylinder hood to cover the extra piston. Everything else except the carbs bolts up. The carbs are TC models and MUCH larger than the WB that are on the three cylinder 85.

If you don't mind hunting for parts and the block is good, then it may be worth it.
