Re: powertrim problems

It could be the relays. I recall that the motor went under. Water may have gotten in the relays and corroded them inside. They are water resistant, but not waterproof. But first check all of the connections for corrosion. Corrosion can form between connections when the motor is connected to a battery and submerged. The motor actually becomes part of the battery. You might have to take every connection apart and clean them.

Re: powertrim problems

hello
could be a bad trim motor, a bad trim solinoid or a bad connection. its time for some voltage checks. or a quick test is make up some heavy 10 ga wire, jumper leads. remove the 10 ga blue and green wires from the trim solinoid. jump the blue trim wire to a known good 12v positive and the green to negative. it should go up, reverse to go down. if it passes that test look for bad connections. if it does not look for water intrusion in the trim motor.

Re: powertrim problems

sounds like the trim motor has failed. you can attempt a repair but normally a trim motor replacement is nessasary:(.
if the engine has sunk carfully inspect the ring terminal joints. they normally dont corrode due to the fact that at rest the terminals are grounded. but they can if submerged.
