Re: Prayers do Wonders

Jason, sorry did not reply earlier but was actually working instead of slacking today. Anyway I could not wait to see how things were going and my wife and I are very happy for you, Jen and especially for Ethan. You have no idea how it made us feel being complete strangers, but as an x EMT I do know what was involved. I am so very happy for you and yours and we will still be praying for a fast and eventless recovery my friend. Take care of yourself as well bud, you do not need to get sick now especially.

Re: Prayers do Wonders

Jason, I am glad to hear everything is going well.
Let all make sure and keep our prayer chain alive and well through his recovery and beyond.
God is gracious and loving and does answer prayers.

Lord may you bless this family with good health and comfort them through these days of recovery. Pray that you guide and direct the doctors and comfort the family. Please give comfort and quickly heal Jason's son. We thankyou LORD for being there through the surgery. May you bless this family with your presents and comfort and let their faith in you grow. Father we also thankyou for all your blessings and may we not take all these blessing for granted. May we all trust and put our faith in you Lord for all our days here on earth. I pray this in your name Jesus Amen.

For all who read this posting I pray that Jesus Christ has come into your lives to be your Lord and savior. For only by the grace of God are we saved from our sins and are serving the one and only true God. For Jesus died on a cross to suffer for our sins and in doing so have given us a free gift of eternal life, but we have to truely ask to recieve this gift. Only by the grace of God are we able to accept this gift and turn our lives over to Jesus. Jesus Saves.

Thanks a ton fellas!

The pain from the surgery trauma seems to be kicking in, so, just finished up a dose of morphine and a red popcicle - he's back to resting. He is such a champ!

You have a family of Champions Jason. We are but humble spectators. I agree that its awsome about everyones responses, but my friend, you may not have realized this but you touch each one of us too. You have a wit about you and you support all of us in our endevours. In our own cyberspace, we are family here too. Is it possible that Jennifer may not frown at you when you are posting at 3 am now? LOL.
Get some sleep dude.
God Bless

Brain surgery gets you all the ice cream you want right? or is that tonsillitis? I'm confused. :p

I'd love to but I really can't. See, I just discovered these in the grocery store and have already eaten two bags.

This is deadly serious. These are the same as Girl Scout cookies Caramel Delights or Samoas before they ruined them a couple years ago. These may be the most irresistible food on the face of the earth for me. I need counseling. If I open a bag, I WILL eat the whole thing. (how's that for a hijack?)

Ok.... put those on top of a bowl of chocolate ice cream and we have us a shin-dig. Excellent find EZ.
So excited for Ethan's recovery, and Jason/Jennifer's peace. Deadwood is right.. slow and steady.

Re: Prayers do Wonders

Well I'm not too proud to admit that I logged in to see how the little guy was doing and teared up in my office rading the posts from Dad. What a relief. Any Dad can relate to the helpless feeling of placing one of the most important things in your life into someone else's hands. It's tough. And yes - being a Dad saved me from myself for sure, so I owe my daughter a lot - not the other way around. She's a nurse now and helps kids in post-op so I can tell you that they all get pretty emotional about each and every patient that comes through. She's give it her all every day for those little ones.

This is a reminder to us all to remember what's really important in life. Hint - it's not the money or the bull at work or the fancy car. They are all add-ons and they don't mean a thing if you the other things are squared away. Well reminded.

Hang in there. It all gets better from here on...

Awesome news !!!!!!!

I do have to say children test the .....well everything.

And I do believe that brain surgery gets you,
Ice cream,
no chores,
no room cleaning,
control of the tv remote,
favorite foods,
favorite snacks
no vegetables
and lots and lots of Mommy / Daddy hugs.

Really glad to hear he is doing well.

Oh THAT'S the stuff that makes everything else worth the heartache. Amazing how good something that simple can make you feel.

Now when he's 17 and arguing with you about everything, you'll need to take a deep breath and bring yourself back to this moment to calm yourself.

Re: Prayers do Wonders

We are home!

Got home yesterday afternoon!

I could not be a happier man guys! E is doing super awesome! He's not 100%, more like 98%. I can't believe it, my whole family is totally floored. The whole extended family welcomed us home yesterday and was looking at him in total shock and disbelief!

He was running around and playing and eating just about like he normally would. At one point I said...

"Hey, slow down buddy, you just had brain surgery!"

He said...

"OK, dad:)"

I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off of my shoulders. I feel like the knot in my stomach that has been there for months is loosening. I feel like I can breath deep once again. Wow what a relief!

And man, did I sleep well last night!

Thanks again guys, the lot of you have been totally awesome!:D:D:D
