can the drive be welded on hit some wood last wekend have a 8 inch crack . or cover it up with a hydrofoil? i think that would make it worse .

Depends on where the crack is. But covering an 8" crack with a hydrofoil is not a fix, ........... What are you thinking?????

thanks don it looks like it could be welded just need to find a shop that can weld cast alunimum, i know nothing about welding and dident want to make my problem worse.
