Hi All,

Just added a fuel water separator to my 3.0 due to concerns regarding ethanol. I just wondered if anyone prefills the filter canister with fuel before putting it on? The canister is at least 1/2 quart size so I don't want to crank a long time on the starter.
Thanks

Yep; that's what I did. I can't say technically how much it may have helped but seems to make sense that it would.

I have the remote oil filter so can't pre-fill that without spilling much but the oil filters on my cars that point up I also pre-fill.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Great Idea,....

Pre-fillin' may or may not be necessary, but never hurts anything either,...

It's a really good habit to pre fill the fuel filter as it helps saves the fuel pumps from wear and tear, not to mention it is now recommended by the engine manufacturer when possible.
