Am switching to an oil injected engine from a pre-mix 50-1... Have a half of tank of pre-mixed fuel left.. Can I run it or need to dilute it first..

You can run it.
But diluting it a bit will reduce smoking and the possability of fouling a plug.

I would run it as is, and use the opportunity to verify that the oil injection is operating.

You can also check the low oil/no oil warning buzzer at this time without endangering your engine.

If the oil-injected engine is new, then the "break-in" specifies that you use premix along with the injection for the first few hours, or full tank. Check a service manual for that engine... or email me the make & model number of the new engine & I'll look it up for you.

mark the oil tank and finnish off the premix. watch the tank to insure oil usage. then go play
