Premixing fuel

With a possible vro failure looming I considering premixing.

When premixing is it necessary to mix the gas and oil in a container before adding it to the main tank? I was hoping to just pour the oil in and then pump in 40 gallons of gas. I wouldn't mind mixing a couple gallons of gas with oil and then pumping in the majority of the gas at the station.

How to you guys do it when dealing with larger volumes of gas? I've got an 80 gallon tank and sometimes I nearly fill it.

take a gas jug....add the oil need for what your going to pump in the tank....add some gas to the jug also...so to dilute the mix...pour it in the tank and then pump ur gas to fill to what you made the mix for....

Thanks for the reply, doesn't seem too bad.

Al, If you are going to fill a nearly empty large tank at a service station, I would alternate adding oil and gas, as you fill it. Put in a qt of oil, add 12 gal gas, add a qt of oil, 12 gal gas, until you fill it.

Calculate the amount of fuel you need to a 3 gal increment.

If you are towing the boat for any distance, by the time you launch TC-W3 oil will have mixed on its own.
