I just had the experience of doing this job myself, looks good to me though. You dont want to sand into the fiberglass just need to rough up the gelcoat. I would go back with some hand paper and get into some of those tighter areas. A uniform surface is important, but adhesion is even more so. Make sure you cover your skin up well when you go to paint the bottom, that is some nasty stuff!! Have fun!

just spent the past 3 weeks doing this. 5 coats of barrier and 3 coats of VC Performance Epoxy, after removing 12 year old unmaintained paint. I can empathize with the labor. This job sucks with a capital S. Took both my wife and I with 2 finishing sanders to get all that old paint off 12 hours later, let alone the new coats and waiting in between. Oh, and then sanding again between the last barrier coat and 3 coats of VC. I don't wish this on my worst enemy.

Now that I look at it..........Worth it. Saved 1K in labor.

Naw, looks like you're doing just fine.
I did my 34 footer last year. SOLO. Never again!
Are you planning a barrier coat before antifouling?

Here's a shot of what I was faced with last spring. Believe it or not, I was able to get it down to bare fiberglass before applying the barrier coat.
