Re: Presidential Election 2008

When originally posting this thread, I had no idea of whom I would nominate. I kind of like the idea of a person that is not a career politician though. Pony has offered Lombardi, not bad. A no-nonsense guy that will be straight with you whether you like it or not.

I like Colin Powell and would not hesitate for a moment to vote for him should he choose to run.

I have one for you. This follows along the non-career politicians. He is a history buff, taught history at a major university, was very tough, articulate, intelligent, driven, concerned, patriotic, caring, and competitive to list a few. Mr. Woody Hayes.

Re: Presidential Election 2008

If i had a choice of any human beings, i would choose Condi Rice fer prez, and Rush Limbaugh fer VP.
On the democrat side, i would like to see Hillary and richard "the turbin" durbin run. Why? Because the sane amoungst their own party would stay home out of pure shame and embarasment. The whackos would still show up, but who would care?

He’s also bet, and lost, the lives of a couple thousand young men and women in a pseudo-war predicated on deception. Troops were being shot at and killed by gun fire from the mosks, but the troops were not allowed to fire on or into the mosks…because it would look bad. I think 10 American troops were killed before the troops were allowed to return fire on the mosks.

War is about making the bad guy die. It’s not about sacrificing your own guys so you can look good for someone else. Somewhere in America there are 10 families without one of their family members, and it didn’t necessarily need to be that way. That tragedy rests squarely on the shoulders of Shrub as the commander in chief.

Note: I don’t ‘rant’ ... I impart wisdom.
:D

That is President Bush. Name calling seems to be a mainstay of one political party, in this country. Even though I despise President Clinton, I still hold respect for the office. Although he did everything (still is) to try and degrade it.

That "no fire" order was the result of the gutlessness/apathy of the American people and the squeaky wheel (Muslims) geting the grease in the mainstream media. It was PC, to the fullest.

We have yet to lose as many people in Iraq as were lost on 9/11. Granted, one is too many, however that is a very impressive loss ratio (we lost 10,000 in one day, at Normandy) for setting 25 million people free from tyranny.

But, I digress. The American people are so self centered anymore, it is no wonder we have no stomach for spreading freedom. We seem to dispise our own freedom, no wonder the rest of the world is confused, by our actions.

No it was not.
It is from something called the "Law of Armed Conflict"
This is required annual training for us in the USAF.
It is used to help us try to hold ourselves to higher standards.
If a truck has a red cross on it and is used for transporting ambulatory patients, we cannot fire on it.
If a truck has a red cross on it and is used to shoot at us, we can fire back.
The mosque not being attacked was to attempt to stop the mainstream media from having more ammo to use against the US. It would not have been published as "Terrorist use mosque as cover, mosque inadvertantly destroyed."
It would have been published as "US destroys mosque in Iraq!!" Then somewhere in about paragraph six or seven, there would be a line that said "locals with weapons were in the mosque."

It is not about being PC. It is about not giving the anti-american media in the U.S. any more than we have to.

end of rant.

AK Chappy

And, why do we have to have that procedure? Because it is PC. Why do we give a damn what the press thinks? Because the gutless/apathetic American public believes everything the anti American media feeds them.

We really do NOT disagree as to-why. I call it PC, you call it SOP. Either way, the results are the same. The hands are tied. Trouble is, our enemies know it and use it to their advantage.

AK Chappy, It is what makes us better than the bad guys. It is often hard not to pull that trigger even though we are pretty sure some innocents will be destroyed. Difficult yes but correct and bless those trained to act accordingly.
