Can I pressure & vacuum test my drive thru the oil drain hole with the fill adapter hooked to my Mity vac instead of thru the oil fill hole? It isn't the same thread. I can't get either of my drive to seal, pretty sure it is my gauge. I can get to seal blocking tube with my hand. But when I try vac or pressure it gauge doesn't move off zero? What am I doing wrong?

Well I got it to thread in the fill hole. But I can get the needle to barely move off zero vac or pressure. I pump the crap out of it, and got it to about 3 psi. I sprayed the crap out of drive while turning input shaft. Didn't see any bubbles but it was at zero in about 3 minutes.

I would think the bad thing about using the drain/fill plug down low is that any residual oil left in the case could enter the pressure/vacuum tube and give false readings. I think it best to use the higher up overfill hole.

the threads are the same, same drain plug, same threads. i have a drive in my garage right now testing the pressure. i use an oil fill adaptor on the end of the pump hose, spray around the plug hole with soapy water and see if thats why your not getting enough pressure
