Pressurize water jacket when not running? 87" Force 85

I was wondering if it was possible to pressurize the water jacket by connecting a garden hose to the water pickup tube while the Gear box and pump are out for service? The pump would not be connected so no worry of running it while dry. I know I could not run my jet ski 2-cycle engine on a hose without the engine running because it would enter the crankcase or something like that.

Yes you can do that.
Just make sure the hose doesn't fall off when running.
