Prestolite starter - shaft lube?

I am replacing the brush cap in the starter motor - Evinrude 115 hp. Should I use any lubricant on the end of the armature shaft (where it goes into the cap)? If so what type? <br />Thanks for the advice.

Just a little dollop of any general purpose grease should be fine.
