Successfully unloading and launching the 22 foot cuddy by yourself while staying dry.....Priceless :)

Cruising the lake by yourself for an hour on a beautiful fall day.....Priceless

Successfully re-loading the 22 foot cuddy by yourself and staying dry....Priceless :)

Dragging the lower unit up the ramp 5 feet and ruining a new set of aluminum DuoProps....$600 !!!!

This was on November 3rd last year (2007). The water was cold and I did not want to get wet. I had gone to run the boat one last time and then pull it back home. We had recently moved and left it stored at the lake. The trip used to be 35 miles but is now 135 miles. Up until that moment it had gone very well. The tow home was good as well, no problems at all.

There were a couple of funny moments during the cruise, just not as damaging to my wallet......:

When launching I had boarded from the lowered pickup tailgate onto the bow deck and was trying to get into the cockpit via the walk-thru windshield when I realized I had left the center section latched and I could not reach the bottom latch! So picture me at 5'10" and 280+ pounds, not in the best of shape, walking around on the very narrow coaming outside of the windshield with only the top of the windshield frame to hold on to and then having to step over the side frame and then down about 3 feet onto the port helm seat.
I had the convertible top stowed in upright position all booted up and one of the removeable hinge pins came loose about halfway thru the cruise. I did not notice it happening and it fell over on my head at about 40mph. I stopped and removed it and stuck it into the cuddy for the rest of the trip. The cruise was pretty smooth after that, until loading....ouch.

:eek:That could have gone really bad, resulting in not just your wallet being hurt.
