I was looking at a 1968 32'Jefferson houseboat(fixer upper)for $2,800.I can't seem to find any blue book values for it,I keep getting n/a.the boat just had the bottom welded and painted by rep.harbor and garenteed not to leak.It has twin 327's that will fire by spraying gas in carbs, generator is unknown on con.but is winterised.Outdrives are off to replace seals, they seem to be in fair to good shape.does anyone know what this boat would be worth fixed up?or have one?I would think it's worth what they want.

I would think any houseboat that doesn't leak and has engines that will run would be worth $2800. Be prepared to replace/repair everything else.

The boats not that bad.controls all work, roof don't leak, all the vinyl seats are good, did I mention flybridg. The guy bought this harber and the boat came with it,and has a good title.the boat has sat in a slip for 10 years with little attention.I'm thinking pretty hard about buying it.I would like to know what its worth in turn key shape

It would have to be worth that just for the salvage value. Like sporter said, be prepared to replace everything - it ain't that cheap for no reason.

Aldo

If you get it make sure you get a bilge pump with ample capacity and a big new battery. Might be an interesting project if the hull is sound.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread...
I would caution anyone thinking of buying a houseboat of this nature.
The price is always attractive, but many things can and will be wrong with this boat. More times than not, you will throw several thousands of dollars into a houseboat that will have an extreme negative value when you are done. The hull could be welded on the outside, but rusting or thining severly from the inside.

You will also have trouble finding an insurance company to insure this.
