as the title says i have a 1981 evinrude 90 hp i can pump the fuel bulb up tight fire it up and after running for a few minutes i can check the bulb and its not firm anymore. is it losing prime or is this normal???? about 3 pumps and its right back tight again. i had an inline fuel filter on it and noticed there was an air pocket in the filter even when primed up tight. removed the filter thinking that the air pocket was causing this to loose prime. so after i removed the filter i noticed some difference as far as the bulb it wasnt AS deflated but still some what. and no worries about filter there is a filter on the engine with a removable screen to clean right on front of the pump. no fuel leaks that i can find so it shouldnt be sucking air. the only issues with the engine running is it seems to be bustiing up about 1/2 throttle but perfect at idle and WOT is this also normal? (out of water on muffS) i understand that outboards sound choppy on muffs. but how choppy is normal.. had carbs cleaned twice already in a month so i am fairly certain they arent trashed up..
