Yes, I am for real. Should the tank primer bulb pump up hard or soft? I have an 1965 johnson 9.5 (at least I think it is a 65) that is acting up. It seems to be loosing power intermittlenly. When I pump the primer bulb I see fuel in the water. I pulled the cowlign and noticed fuel coming from the carbarator when I pump the tank pump and the bulb never gets hard. See the pic of my index finger pointing to the place I see fuel pumping from when I pump the tank bulb. If my memory is correct I thought it used to pump up firm so....you see my delema! Should I see fuel comming from this spot when pumping the tank primer?

Maybe the file size is too big. Reduce it to an e-mailable size and attach again.
Could be the float not functioning correctly. Maybe time to rebuild the carb.

The fuel primer bulb just becomes as though part of the hose once the engine is running normally. It should not collapse at all, nor should it stay hard.

Ok, here is a smaller version of the pic. My finger is pointing to the spot on the carb where the fuel is running out of when I pump the bulb. So...without the motor running should it pump hard? I think it should and should not be pumping the fuel out like it is. Float Stuck? I will try the old float unsticking trick and see what happens.

still see a red x.

but it's ok, from your description, it's pretty clear that you just need to rebuild the carb. Shouldn't ever be any gas leaking out of it. A gasket or o-ring gone bad, or the float valve not shutting properly.

The primer bulb should get firm when you pump it up -- maybe not tennis ball firm, but at least raquetball firm. when the motor's running, there's fuel flowing through it, but you can still feel the pressure in the line. When you shut it off, the bulb should still be firm, and stay that way pretty much all day.
