Hi everyone, need a question answered, my primer bulb that I'm replaceing is inside dia. 1/4'', the bulb I bought at the marina was 3/8''. The salesman said that it would work ok, is this true? I have a 1998 150 hp FITCH Johnson fuel-oil injected engine. Any and all answers greatly appreciated.

Hey Bill, You need a 3/8" ID fuel line for that motor. Replace the fuel line from the tank to the fuel rail, including the primer bulb with 3/8" ID marine fuel line.

Re: Primer Bulb

I would change all the fuel line clear to the carbs, 12 years is a pretty good service life for that.

Once it gets old it starts flaking off on the inside and plugging carbs and it is a cheap easy way to eliminate something that could strand you.
